How to keep yourself motivated?

“People often say that motivation doesn’t last. Well, neither does bathing – that’s why we recommend it daily.”

Zig Ziglar

How to keep yourself motivated?

Motivation is a desire to do something in your personal life, at work, studying, or in sports. It can help you to achieve your greatest goals and dreams, whatever they may be. However, during the race for more and better, we just become exhausted and therefore lose the chance and drive to reach the finish line.

So what do you need to do to stay motivated?

  • One of the key points of success is to love your work. Steve Jobs once said, “Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle. As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know when you find it.”
  • “Everything you can imagine is real,” said Pablo Picasso. Such a simple statement, but it is so true. Visualization is a powerful tool that many people still dismiss. If you have ideas or goals that seem unrealistic, then you should try to achieve them.
  • Sometimes we do unnecessary tasks that slow us down. Think them over, maybe such work will never help in meeting your needs.
  • Always analyze your work. It will help to understand if everything is well-made and what you can improve.
  • Ironically, our environment also has an impact on us. American entrepreneur John Rohn once said, “You’re the average of the five people you spend the most time with.” Then think about what kind of people you want to see around: ambitious, full of energy and motivation, or indifferent, passive, and small-minded.
  • Usually, we set ourselves big goals and fade away on our way to reaching them. Of course, it turns our motivation into nothing. Therefore, divide your work into several parts, and for completing each of them, treat yourself.
  • Keep a balance between work and rest. It’s necessary to give ourselves some time to renew our energy. Remember – the less we rest, the less productive we are, so our motivation disappears.
  • Never give up. Always remember that your failure will be your own experience. “Turn your scars into stars” (Robert H. Schuller).

Nevertheless, some people say that motivation is highly overrated and we can live without it. But still, something makes us continue to work no matter how hard it is for us. Maybe it’s acquired habits and self-discipline that free us from a constant search for an answer to “Why am I doing that?”

All in all, everything starts with our motivation and desire. It gives us strength and inspiration to move forward and reach new heights.
